The site was Riverside park where 14 teams competed for a rare Friday afternoon meet. The girls took 5th out of the 12 teams they were up against. Maggie Duba achieved an 8th place medal and a season record of 20:23! Ali Junewick (21:48) and Lily Lesarge (22:00) also nabbed top 25 medals and season records! Maggie Mckeiver was 4th for varsity and was 7 seconds from her PR with a 21:57! Maggie has continually been a leader for the team through her work ethic and attitude, and it has paid off from the work she put in the summer! Nathalie Strockis and Claire Smith also hit their best times of the season! Lainey Roth, Brenna Olewinski, and Bree Hoffer also ran competitive races! On the JV side, Audrey Mckeiver earned a 23rd place medal and a 26:43 PR! Anna Richmond and Lauren Ignatoski may have not hit their best of the season, but they definitely did not falter to finish strong! No matter how the day goes, PRs, medals or however off or on we may have been on our times, this team is built off the belief they can compete with any team and in any race! When we show grit, optimism and fight each race, and practice, the accolades and extra stuff will naturally come its way! We have a quick turnaround for the first conference race on Wednesday at Unity Chrtistian. The team will continue to work on not going out as fast, so we can have negative splits come the end of the race! Keep it up West!
