The girls varsity basketball team needed a strong fourth quarter effort to beat the visiting Sparta Spartans Tuesday night at West Catholic. Trailing 34-31 entering the fourth quarter, the Falcons turned up the defensive pressure and took their first lead, 40-39, on two Maya Mileski free throws with 2:09 remaining in the game. West went on to outscore Sparta 11-6 in the final two minutes to secure the win. Dana Wila led all scorers with 19 points followed by Morgan Hipp, 11 points and Brooke Norder, 10 points in the Falcon victory. The varsity basketball team will play their last regular season home game on Friday against Unity Christian.
