It was a Pitcher's duel through 5 innings at Spring Lake with the score deadlocked at 0. Then in the bottom of the 6th Spring Lake scored two runs to take a 2-0 lead. Then with two outs and nobody on base, the Falcons scored 4 runs to take the 2 run lead. Enter Gaetano Vallone who pitched a solid game and then slammed the door in the 7th for the complete game victory. Vallone allowed 2 runs, on 5 hits, he struck out 7 and walked 3.
Offensively, Spencer Vainavicz had three hits and an RBI to pace the Falcons. Bo Arndt had two singles in the game and Vallone doubled for West Catholic. But it was Mitchell Doyle's single off the second baseman's glove for two RBI that proved to be the game winner.
The Falcon's are 9-4 in the OK Blue and 12-6 overall with game coming up at Spring Lake.
